Important Notice Regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19)
We are closely monitoring all developments associated with the coronavirus (COVID-19) and are taking proactive steps to ensure the health and safety of all patients, employees and the communities we serve.
Please note the following updates:
Ongoing Monitoring & Response Policy:
ARS facilities are following Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines, and we have strong infection control policies, procedures and systems in place. Patients are encouraged to report to nursing at the onset of any new symptoms to be tested.
Patients with a positive COVID-19 or rapid flu test and who are asymptomatic or have mild symptoms may be quarantined and treated for five days within the facility. Patients with severe COVID-19 or flu symptoms may be discharged to a higher level of care to get the help they need.
Visitation Policy:
For the safety of all patients, family members, visitors and staff, visitors may only enter an ARS facility during designated visitation times. A patient’s treatment team must approve any visitor. Patients in the medical detox or inpatient programs do not have in-person visitors to allow them to focus on their recovery.
Questions or Concerns?
If you have questions or further concerns about any of our policy updates, please check back frequently, or you can reach out directly by calling 855-387-3291.
Next Steps
Understanding what to expect at Denver Mental Health and Counseling can help you feel prepared for your treatment.
You will receive three emails from us prior to your first appointment. The first email will introduce you to Nobu, our virtual health application. There, you can create an account, see your upcoming appointments and message your clinician directly. You should still download and create an account on Nobu even if you made your appointment(s) in person. This is because virtual and nursing appointments as well as other communications will take place directly within the app.
A second email will be sent containing electronic consent forms to be completed before your first appointment. You will then receive an email confirming your upcoming appointment(s).

Our Facility
Our centrally located facility allows us to conveniently serve those looking for outpatient care in the Greater Denver area and its surrounding communities. It also provides a simple transition to clients from The Recovery Village at Palmer Lake who are seeking aftercare treatment in our outpatient program.
Inside our facility, you will find comfortable meeting spaces and treatment rooms that provide the perfect backdrop for healing.
Treatment Programs and Therapies Offered
We work with each patient to create a treatment plan that addresses their specific needs and goals in recovery.
Substance Use Disorder and Mental Health Counseling
Denver Mental Health and Counseling offers outpatient programs that treat both substance use disorders and mental health disorders. Treating these disorders simultaneously encourages holistic healing and paves the way for long-term success in recovery.
Intensive Outpatient for Substance Abuse (In-Person or Virtual)
As part of our intensive outpatient programs (IOPs), you will be provided with substance use treatment while being able to live at home or in a sober living facility. This allows you to continue to attend school or work and fulfill daily obligations. You will typically attend virtual or in-person IOP treatments between nine and 20 hours per week.
Outpatient Rehab
Outpatient rehab is similar to our IOP program but provides more flexible care with fewer scheduled treatment hours per week. Treatment can include individual, group or family therapy, as well as medical care and medication-assisted treatment.
Psychiatric Support and Services
Denver Mental Health and Counseling offers virtual or in-person mental health support services. Our well-trained mental health counselors provide both short- and long-term care for a wide range of mental health concerns.
Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT)
Denver Mental Health and Counseling can provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) in addition to your addiction treatment plan. As part of MAT, medications are used with other treatment methods to relieve withdrawal symptoms, reduce cravings, reduce the side effects caused by a substance and reduce its ability to produce a high.
Alumni Program
Recovery does not end when you complete treatment. Denver Mental Health and Counseling provides access to local resources and support systems to help you stay accountable in your recovery. The key to long-term recovery lies in remaining connected to others who understand what you’re going through.
Our Staff
The staff members at Denver Mental Health and Counseling are here to help. Our licensed counselors to specially trained support staff, each and every member of our team is chosen for their professionalism, compassion and dedication to helping you recover from addiction.
Insurance and Your Obligation During Treatment
Many health insurance plans require out-of-pocket costs in order to access your healthcare benefits. These expenses may include Deductibles, Co-Pays, Coinsurance % and Maximum Out-of-Pocket Expenses (collectively, the “Patient Responsibility”).
Your individual Patient Responsibility may vary based on a number of factors including:
- Your individual benefits plan
- Length of stay at the facility
- Type of services received during treatment
- Other services offered at the facility, but not covered by your insurance provider (such as lab tests, non-covered prescriptions, etc.)
- Reasonable boarding fees should you decide to stay with the facility for treatment at outpatient levels of care.
A staff member will review your Patient Responsibility with you at the time of admission or as soon as possible once you are medically stable. They will explain that the deductible is due upon admittance to the facility and the co-insurance amount and out-of-pocket balance will be billed and paid for after treatment once services are complete. On-site financial counselors will again review your financial responsibility during treatment with case managers who can help you navigate FMLA.
It is your responsibility to check with your insurance provider prior to admission at Denver Mental Health and Counseling to understand your individual benefits plan. Please note that your insurance plan may not be a “participating provider” with Denver Mental Health and Counseling. You are responsible for all non-covered and out-of-pocket costs related to your treatment stay.
