Alyssa Sullivan, Miss New Jersey 2021, joins us as a Real Talk Brand Ambassador in 2021/2022! She is from Cape May Court House, New Jersey, and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Rowan University, where she majored in broadcast journalism. In addition to serving as an ambassador, Alyssa also dedicates her time to her social impact initiative, Peer Challenge Commit2Character, which focuses on stopping the domino effect of the risk-taking behaviors that students are inundated with like bullying, drinking, drugs, unplanned pregnancy, and cyberbullying. Since 2013, Alyssa has reached over 12,000 students in 80 schools through this program. She continues the Decisions Determine Destiny School Tour as Miss New Jersey to educate students about the emotional and physical dangers of risk-taking behaviors. Alyssa continues to work with members of The New Jersey State Legislature and initiated a collaboration with New Jersey Senate President, Steve Sweeney, to implement character education into every New Jersey school’s curriculum. Supporting Real Talk and Advanced Recovery Systems is important to her as she’s dedicated half her life to eradicating the stigma of mistakes for a positive future and showing students that they’re never too far down the wrong road to turn around. Becoming a Real Talk Brand Ambassador is an honor for Alyssa and she can get one step closer to showing our youth that they’re not invincible and our decisions determine our destiny.
