Maureen is an academic researcher with a passion for science communication. She has a bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University, where she majored in Molecular Genetics and minored in English. She has worked in multiple labs, studying the genetics of cancer and is currently a PhD student at Northwestern University, where she is analyzing genetic mutations that lead to pediatric leukemia.
When she is not in the lab, Maureen enjoys playing trombone and sousaphone with a couple of street marching bands, making art, and relaxing with her cat, Wednesday.
